Thanksgiving in Springfield (and Branson)

We had a great Thanksgiving in Springfield. Lori had put together quite a spread of food and of course I ate more than I probably should have. After spending the morning and lunch at home, we went over to Bass Pro Shop to have the children’s picture taken with Santa. They didn’t want to cooperate too much so we all got in it which was fun.

We went on down to Branson to Silver Dollar City to see the Christmas lights, and the trip did not disappoint. It’s the most lights I’ve ever seen in one place, and our arrival at the park coincided with the lighting of the HUGE Christmas tree and music presentation. We did the kiddie rides and found the train to ride on. All the lights, while wonderful, got to be a little disorienting after a while.  The most surprising thing that happened was that I saw my cousin Janet and her family at the entrance of the park. I hadn’t seen her for years, she lives in Rayville, LA close to my aunt and uncle and other cousin.

This photo was taken at Bass Pro Shop at the entrance. Lori talked a nice lady into taking the picture so we could all be in a photo for a change.
