Lori and I are now officially in the fourth decade of our lives. She celebrated this milestone yesterday with some pomp and interesting circumstances. We got to have a meal to ourselves thanks to some babysitting duties from our friends. One of our church members told me that it wasn’t her 40th birthday that made her emotional, but it was when her first child reached the age of 40. Here are the candidates for the job in our family. It looks like Cally has an early lead. I’m not in a hurry to see this happen, however. And I don’t have to be happy about it.

  1. Danny,

I appreciated your involvement in our Annual Meeting. We are looking forward to the possibility of a collaborative meeting in 2009 with all our Baptist brothers and sisters. As someone approaching 55, I can honestly say 40 is a an easy transition. The picture of your kids is great. The only thing better is grandkids. We have two–five and three. We continue to pray for you and your church family. Let us know if we can be of assistance in any way.
